FAQ

Everything people ask before they join — buying, selling, pricing, payments and compliance.

What is Leadz Marketplace?

Leadz Marketplace is a Canadian lead marketplace and distribution platform. Lead generators sell leads to Canadian buyers in real time through a ping/post auction, and operators can license the same distribution technology to run their own branded marketplace.

How fast are leads delivered?

Typically under two seconds from form submission to the buyer’s endpoint, including validation, duplicate checking and the auction itself.

Is Leadz Marketplace CASL compliant?

The platform captures and permanently stores everything CASL requires a sender to be able to prove: the exact consent wording displayed, the checkbox state, the IP address, a timestamp and the landing page URL. Compliance remains your responsibility as the sender; the platform gives you the record to defend it.

What does it cost?

Joining the marketplace to buy or sell leads is free, with a transparent transaction fee shown on every line item. Licensing the platform to run your own branded operation starts at $499 CAD per month and includes 5,000 leads.

Which provinces do you cover?

All ten provinces and three territories. Buyer depth is strongest in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec.

How do I start buying leads?

Apply for a buyer account, tell us your vertical and volume, and we will set up your campaign with your filters and delivery endpoint. Most buyers are live within two business days. There is no monthly fee to buy on the marketplace.

Do I pay for leads that do not match my filters?

No. Filters are applied before a lead is ever offered to you. A lead that fails your spec never enters your queue and never appears on your invoice.

Can I return bad leads?

Yes. Every purchase has a return window, seven days by default and negotiable. Submit disputes individually or upload a CSV. Approved returns are credited to your balance within one business day.

How are leads delivered to me?

Direct HTTP post to your endpoint, a webhook, or an integration with Salesforce, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Zoho or Pipedrive. Email and SMS delivery are available if you are running lean.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit card top-ups through Stripe, with optional auto-recharge so you never run dry mid-campaign. Established buyers can apply for net-30 invoicing with a credit limit.

How much can I earn per lead?

It depends on your vertical, your traffic quality and how tightly your leads match buyer filters. Across the marketplace, sellers keep 75-85% of the sale price by default. Because leads are auctioned rather than sold at a flat rate, strong leads earn what they are actually worth instead of an average.

When and how do I get paid?

Balances credit instantly when a lead sells. Payouts run weekly by EFT or Interac e-Transfer once your balance passes $100 CAD. There are no holdbacks beyond the standard return window.

What traffic sources do you accept?

Google and Bing search, Meta and TikTok paid social, SEO and organic, email to your own consented list, native and display, and call transfer. We do not accept incentivized traffic, co-registration without clear disclosure, scraped or purchased lists, or anything without a verifiable consent record.

What happens if nobody bids on my lead?

It falls through your waterfall to your second and third tier of buyers, and then to your own backup endpoint if you have configured one. You can also set a price floor below which you would rather keep the lead than sell it.

Can I see why a buyer rejected my lead?

Yes, and in detail. Every ping shows each buyer response: whether they bid, passed, were filtered out and on which field, were capped, or had insufficient funds.

What is lead distribution software?

Software that receives leads from suppliers, validates them, matches them against buyer specifications, prices them (often through a real-time auction), delivers them to the winning buyer’s system, and handles the billing between all parties.

Can I run this under my own brand?

Yes. The buyer and supplier portals run on your domain with your logo and colours. Your suppliers and buyers never see the Leadz Marketplace brand, and we never contact them.

Can you migrate my existing campaigns?

Yes, and at no extra cost. We rebuild your campaigns, filters and buyer integrations as part of onboarding.

Do you buy or sell leads inside my instance?

Never. Platform licensees’ suppliers and buyers are permanently off-limits to us. We do not compete with our own customers.

How much does it cost to join the marketplace?

Nothing. There is no monthly fee and no setup fee to buy or sell leads. The platform takes a transparent transaction fee on each sale, shown on every line item.

What happens if I exceed my included leads?

Additional leads are billed on a declining per-lead tier — the more you route, the less each one costs. Overage never blocks delivery.

Is there a contract?

No. Everything is month to month and you can cancel at any time. Your data is exportable whenever you want it.

What is CASL and how does it affect lead generation?

CASL is Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. It governs commercial electronic messages sent to or from Canada and requires express or implied consent, clear sender identification and a working unsubscribe mechanism. For lead generation the critical point is that the burden of proving consent falls on the sender, and administrative monetary penalties reach $10 million for a business.

Is a pre-checked consent box valid under CASL?

No. Express consent requires a positive action by the consumer, which in practice means an unchecked box they actively tick. A pre-checked box, or consent bundled inseparably into terms of service, does not meet the standard.

What is Quebec Law 25 and does it apply to me?

Law 25 is Quebec’s modernized privacy legislation and it is stricter than PIPEDA. It requires explicit consent, French-language rights, a designated privacy officer and privacy impact assessments for certain projects. It applies to anyone handling the personal information of Quebec residents, regardless of where the business is located.

Where is Canadian lead data stored?

Canadian lead data is stored in Canadian data centres. Most US-based lead platforms cannot offer this, and Canadian buyers increasingly ask.

Does Leadz Marketplace provide legal advice?

No. The platform provides tooling and record-keeping. Your compliance obligations as a sender remain yours, and you should have a Canadian privacy or marketing lawyer review your consent wording and your agreements before you go live.

What happens if the winning buyer's system is down?

The waterfall automatically offers the lead to the next-highest bidder, then the next, until one accepts. Nothing is billed until a buyer actually accepts, so a buyer outage costs you nothing.

How long does a ping token stay valid?

Five minutes by default, configurable per campaign. If it expires you simply send a fresh ping — bids can change in the interim because buyers spend their budgets.

Why do you exclude names and emails from the ping?

Because buyers do not need identity to price a lead, and sending it would let them harvest your data without paying for it. Fields are individually marked as ping-visible or not.

How much do mortgage leads cost in Canada?

Shared mortgage leads typically trade between $25 and $60 CAD, and exclusive leads between $90 and $220 CAD. Price moves with credit band, property value, province and how tightly you filter. Narrow filters raise the price per lead but usually improve close rate enough to justify it. These are planning estimates — post a small test batch to see your real market.

Are these exclusive or shared mortgage leads?

Both. In a ping/post auction the lead goes to the single highest bidder, which makes it exclusive to you. You can also configure a campaign to sell the same lead to a capped number of buyers, which lowers the price per buyer. You choose per campaign.

What is the average close rate on Canadian mortgage leads?

It depends far more on your speed to contact than on the lead source. Brokers who call within five minutes typically convert several times better than those who call the next day. Ask any lead vendor for their buyers’ contact-rate data, not just their close-rate claims.

Do mortgage leads come with consent for calling?

Every lead on Leadz Marketplace carries an express consent record: the exact form wording shown, the checkbox state, the IP address, a timestamp and the landing page URL. Under CASL the burden of proving consent falls on the sender, so you receive the record you would need in an audit.

Can I filter mortgage leads by province?

Yes. Province is a standard field and most buyers filter on it first. You can also filter on postal code prefix for tighter territory control, and the platform cross-checks postal codes against the stated province to catch bad data.

How much do life insurance leads cost in Canada?

Shared life insurance leads typically trade between $20 and $50 CAD, exclusive between $70 and $180 CAD. Coverage amount and age band move the price more than anything else — a non-smoker in their thirties requesting substantial coverage will always clear at the top of the range.

What filters matter most for life insurance leads?

Age, coverage amount and smoker status, in that order. Those three determine whether the policy is worth an advisor’s time. Province matters too, because advisors must be licensed in the province where the client resides.

Are life insurance leads worth buying if I am a new advisor?

Volume purchasing punishes a slow follow-up process, so it is worth building your contact workflow before you scale spend. Start with a small daily cap, measure your contact rate honestly for a few weeks, and only increase volume once you are reaching most of the people you buy.

Do you sell final expense leads?

Final expense is available as a separate campaign because the buyer set, the price point and the qualifying fields are all different from term life. Contact us and we will set it up.

How much do HVAC leads cost in Canada?

Shared HVAC leads typically trade between $25 and $65 CAD, exclusive between $80 and $200 CAD. Installation leads command roughly three times what repair leads do because the job value is far higher. Emergency leads clear at the top of the range.

Are HVAC leads homeowner-verified?

Homeowner status is captured as a required field on every HVAC lead and you can filter to homeowners only, so renters never reach your queue or your invoice. It is self-reported at the form, which is the standard for real-time lead data.

What is the best time of year to buy HVAC leads in Canada?

September through November for heating and June through August for cooling. The sharpest spikes follow the first cold snap and the first heatwave. Volume is thinner in spring and fall shoulder seasons, but competition is lower and prices soften.

Can I limit how many HVAC leads I receive per day?

Yes — set hourly, daily and monthly caps per campaign. This matters more in HVAC than almost any other vertical, because weather events create volume spikes that will overwhelm a small crew.

How much do solar leads cost in Canada?

Shared solar leads typically trade between $20 and $55 CAD and exclusive leads between $70 and $190 CAD. Canadian prices sit below US prices because the buyer pool is smaller, which cuts both ways — cheaper leads, but fewer bidders competing for your inventory.

Which Canadian provinces are best for solar leads?

Alberta and Ontario have the strongest combination of irradiance, electricity rates and program support among the large provinces. Saskatchewan has excellent irradiance but a smaller installer base. Filter by province rather than buying nationally — the economics genuinely differ.

Should I buy solar or heat pump leads?

Heat pump demand in Canada is currently growing faster, driven by rebate programs and the shift away from fossil heating. Many installers now sell both. They are available as separate campaigns so you can price and filter them independently.

How do I qualify a solar lead before bidding?

Homeowner status, detached home type and monthly electricity spend above roughly $150 will remove most of the leads that were never going to install. Roof age is the fourth filter worth adding if your form captures it.

How much do roofing leads cost in Canada?

Shared roofing leads typically trade between $30 and $75 CAD and exclusive leads between $100 and $260 CAD. Roofing carries some of the highest prices in home services because a single replacement job is worth thousands.

Are storm damage leads worth more?

Usually yes. Intent is immediate and an insurance claim often covers the work, which removes the price objection. Volume arrives in unpredictable bursts, so set caps in advance rather than reacting after your queue is already flooded.

How tightly can I filter roofing leads by location?

Down to the postal code prefix. Roofing is a service-radius business and buying leads outside your radius is the fastest way to waste money in this vertical.

How much do auto loan leads cost in Canada?

Shared auto loan leads typically trade between $15 and $45 CAD and exclusive leads between $55 and $140 CAD. Prime-credit applicants command more than subprime, though subprime carries far more volume.

What is a realistic contact rate on auto finance leads?

It depends almost entirely on how fast you call. Applicants in this vertical commonly submit to multiple dealers within minutes of each other, so a lead that is an hour old is a substantially different asset from one that is two minutes old.

Can I filter auto loan leads by credit band?

Yes. Credit rating is captured as a self-reported field and most buyers filter on it, usually alongside monthly income and employment status. Self-reported credit is directionally useful but is not a bureau pull.

How much do debt consolidation leads cost in Canada?

Shared leads typically trade between $18 and $45 CAD and exclusive leads between $60 and $150 CAD. Higher debt amounts command higher bids because the fee opportunity is larger.

Is debt relief lead generation regulated in Canada?

The buyers are heavily regulated. Consumer proposals can only be filed by Licensed Insolvency Trustees, credit counselling agencies operate under provincial rules, and advertising claims in this space attract regulatory attention. Verify what each buyer is licensed to do before you sell to them.

What debt amount should I set as a floor?

Around $10,000 in unsecured debt is the common threshold. Below that, most formal solutions do not make financial sense for the consumer, and buyers will reject or return those leads.

How much do immigration leads cost in Canada?

Shared leads typically trade between $25 and $70 CAD and exclusive leads between $90 and $240 CAD. Express Entry and PNP enquiries command the highest prices because the professional fees are substantial.

Who is legally allowed to buy immigration leads in Canada?

Paid Canadian immigration advice may only be given by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant registered with the CICC, a lawyer in good standing with a provincial law society, or a Quebec notary. Verify registration before approving any buyer in this vertical.

Do immigration leads come from inside or outside Canada?

Mostly outside. That is normal for the vertical, but it means your consent, privacy and data-transfer obligations are more complex than for a domestic-only campaign. Take advice before you scale.

Let's find out if this fits.

Fifteen minutes. Tell us your vertical, your volume, and what's broken about your current setup. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you that too.
